Zelma Sophrina Brewer Puett

C. 27525 Fax # 919-494-1115 FRANKLINTON: Zelma Sophina Brewer Puett, age 79, of 282 Mitchiner Rd., died September 27, 2011. She was a native of Carter Co., TN and was the daughter of the late Finley Jerome aneemma Moody Brewer. Zelma worked for many years in the hosiery industry as a knitter and fixer with Durham Hosiery, Burlington Industry and Glenn Raven Mills. Zelma was a long time member of Perry's Chapel Baptist Church where she sang, and played her guitar in the church band. She lived an enriched and full life as a musician and homemaker. Zelma's greatest passion in life was her family, blue grass & gospel music. She loved to pick-up her 1932 Gibson guitar, shower down on an old-timey tune by memory and make music with her family and friends. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday October 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Perry's Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Clyde Waiden. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lewis G. Puett Sr.; childreneewis G. Purtt, Jr. and wife Pamela, Michael F. Purtt and wife Anne, Janet West, Anita Behler and husband Timothy, Stanley Puett and wife Denee, Danny Puett and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Tiffany Puett, Jenneer Pleasants, Krista Puett, Alyssa Behler, Kayley Behler, Jaden Puett, Lily Puett, Dale West, Jimmy Arnett, Josh West, Dallas Puett, Matthew Behler, Justin Puett, Mark Behler and Jordon Puett; great grandchildren, Julie West; sisters, Geraldine Crawley and Nancy Johnson of Morganton, Alma Sluder of Bluff City, TN and Janvea Clark of Newland; brothers, Finley Brewer, Jr. of Louisville, KY, John Brewer of Elizabethton, TN and Steven Brewer of Marion. She was preceded ineeath by a son, Roger Dale Puett, grandson Eric Bradley Puett, granddaughter Melissa Ann Puett, three brothers, James Sidney Brewer, Finley ray Brewer, Sonny Jerome Brewer and a sister Marjorie Lewis. The family will receive friends Friday September 30, 2011 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at the Hall Wynne Funeral Home in Franklinton. The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors and nurses at UNC Women's Hospital cancer Center. The lord helped to guide their hands to give us six additional years with our mother.
