William Randolph "Randy" Morris, 55, died suddenly Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at his home. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Randy was borneeptember 13, 1958 to William C. and Doris Walker Morris. He was a graduate of Auburn Uneersity, where he earned his bachelor degree in arts & finance. Randy joined the US Navy in 1980 and was a Commander from 1996 until his retirement in October of 2003. He served in the Iraq War. Following retirement he was the executive vice president of Coldwater Aviation Group Inc. founded by his lifelong friend Bill Harwood. Randy was an active voluneer and the treasurer of the St. Thomas More School Association in Chapel Hill. He and his wife Betty have resided in Chapel Hill since 1995. Randy was an honest, simple and humble man who loved his family and country with all his heart. Surviving are: his wife, of 20 years, Beatriz "Betty" Blanco Morris of Chapel Hill; a son, Will Morris of Chapel Hill; a daughter, Lauren Morris of Chapel Hill; a sister, Cathy Morris of Buford, Georgia; an aunt, Sadie Crawford and husband, Larry of Jasper, Georgia; two unees, Philip Walker of Jasper, Georgia and Robert L. Walker and wife, Sue of Jasper, Georgia; brother-in-law, Jose' Blanco and wife, Anee of Atlanta; sister-in-law, Lourdes Blanco of New York City, NY. The family will be present 6-8 pm Monday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main Street, Durham. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am Tuesday at St. Thomas More Church, 940 Carmichael St., Chapel Hill. In lieu of flowers, donation's in Randy's memory may be made to St. Thomas More School Scholarship Fund, attn. Dr. Ashton, 920 Carmichael St. Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
