William Michael Guilfoyle, Jr.

Durham, N.C. - William Michael Guilfoyle, Jr., MD age 75 died at 805 Demerius St., Durham on April 20,2022.  He was born December 24, 1947 to the late Eleanor and William Guilfoyle. He is survived by sister Eleanor Theresa Hanson, brother Bryan, nephews Ryan Hickey, Keith Hickey, Michael Guilfoyle, Nicholas Hanson, and niece Kerri Hickey. He was also predeceased by his sister Eileen Hickey-Guilfoyle.

William earned an electrical engineering associates level degree in high school before attending Georgetown University both as an undergraduate and medical student. He worked as an emergency room physician through most of his career. In his retirement he succeeded as a stock market day-trader, and painter of stills and landscapes.

William won many prestigeous awards such as president of the National Honor Society, captain of football and lacrosse teams, JFK Citizenship award, Ski club president, New York Regents scholarship, East Meadow Community scholarship, and was voted Most Likely to Succeed in high school at Tresper Clarke High School in Westbury, Long Island, New York.

He was also a proficient musical organ player.
