William Louis La Mountain

William “Bill” La Mountain, age 78, died at home on Sunday, January 12, 2025. He was born on February 11, 1946, to the late Ora M. Pecore and William N. La Mountain.

Bill retired from the Navy as a Master Chief after 25 years of service. His years of service as a Communication Technician took him to Alaska, England, Florida, Guam, Japan, and Panama. His final duty station was Norfolk, Virginia.

Bill had a wide variety of hobbies including stained glass projects and woodworking. For relaxation he liked to cook Japanese and Chinese foods for the family.

Bill is survived by his wife Donna, daughter Christy & wife Christa Donofrio, son Bill & wife Sarah, grandchildren Jacob & wife Corinne, Ephraim, Ezra, Lydia & fiancé Colby Steffler, and great granddaughter Violet Steffler. Bill was preceded in death by his father William N. La Mountain, mother Ora M. Pecore, and stepfather Thomas C. Pecore.

 A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Holy Infant Catholic Church, 5000 Southpark Drive, Durham, NC 27713 (919) 544-713

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
