William L. Dixon

OXFORD: Mr. William L. "Bunk" Dixon Sr. age 87 died Monday August 18, 2008. A native of Granville Co. and the son of the late Robert and Ruth Fuller Dixon. He retired from John Umstead in Butner. A member of Oxford Uneed Methodist Church and Veteran of World War II. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday from Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Chapel by Dr. Randy Pittman and Rev. Pat Hawkins. Burial will follow ineeadowview Memorial Park. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Denee D. Smith and husband David of Oxford, NC. And one son, William L. "Bill" Dixon Jr. and wife Joyce, of Oxford NC.; one sister, Eleanor D. Foster, of Oxford NC.; one brother, Marshall Dixon, of Butner, NC.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation for the family will be one hour before the services at the Funeral Home and at other times at the home of David & Denee Smith, 207 Holly Dr., Oxford NC.
