William Kirk "Bill" Arrington

William Kirk "Bill" Arrington, 92, died Saturday, June 21, 2014. Bill was born, April 4, 1922 to Samuel Pitts Arrington and Hattie Lillian Kirk Arrington, and was a life resident of Durham County. He was a US Navy veteran of WW II. Bill worked for Duke Power Company from 1942 until his retirement in 1984. He was a member and Life Deacon of Temple Baptist Church in Durham, Bill and his wife, Ruth, voluneered aneenjoyed visiting homebound church members. They also enjoyed, for many years, their Sunday night get togethers with their close friends. Bill is preceded ineeath by his wife, Anee Ruth Strickland Arrington who died ineecember of 2013, as well as his parents. He is survived by three sons, David K. Arrington and wife, Elizabeth of Timberlake, Ted W. Arrington and wife, Leslie of Chapel Hill, Glenn S. Arrington and wife, Tammie of Graham; a grandson, Will C. Arrington; and many cousins. The family will be present 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St., Durham. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Temple Baptist Church, 4504 Sterling Dr. Durham. Senior Pastor Mark Mofield will officiate. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Durham.
