Wilhelmina Morris Shotwell, age 83 of Granville County passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 18, 2018 at her home. She was a native of Halifax County and a daughter to the late John Henry and Sarah O'Geary Morris. Wilhelmina was married to her long-time friend, Edwin Shotwell. She was a homemaker and farmer by her husband's side while raising a strong family in northern Granville County. She earned a high school degree and went on to complete some college in her early years. Wilhelmina is survived by her husband of 64 years and her three sons; Edwin "Butch Shotwell, Steve Shotwell (Kelly), and John Shotwell; five grandchildren, Darrell Shotwell, Sarah Shotwell, James Shotwell, Kerry Shotwell, and Laura Shotwell; three great grandchildren; and her brother James Morris. Mrs. Shotwell was predeceased by her sisters Virginia Tuck, Annie Mae Glasscock, Flora Adkins, and Irma Newton, and her daughter-in-law Deborah Shotwell. Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM Monday January 22, 2018 at Gentry Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at the home place. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Gentry Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home is proudly serving the Shotwell family.
