Wayne Thomas Milton

Wayne Thomas Milton, age 53, of the Providence community in Oxford, NC died suddenly on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. He was born in Vance County on March 12, 1969, to Perry Eugene “Gene” Milton and Patsy Daniel Milton.

Wayne, to most known as Doughnut, was a man with a heart of gold and a beautiful, kind soul. He believed in family, friends, and hard work. He was a dedicated lifetime volunteer firefighter with Providence Fire Department and a member of the Providence Baptist Church. He worked for NC DOT in Granville County for 19 years. He loved to ride motorcycles and was known to take off any time he had a free moment and a pretty day.

Wayne is survived by his mother, Patsy Daniel Milton; his daughter, Stephanie Matthews (Brad); two sisters, Vickie Boyd (Danny) of Oxford and Lisa Proctor (Rick) of Butner; and one brother, Larry Milton (Cindy) of Oxford. He is also survived by many other loving extended family members and friends too numerous to name.

Wayne is predeceased by his father, Gene Milton.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at 3:00 pm at Providence Baptist Church, 4603 Old NC 75, Oxford, NC. The service will be officiated by Rev. William Wheeler, Jr. Burial will follow in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm in the Fellowship Hall of the Church.
