Virginia Scarborough Teasley, age 84, resident of Durham entered into eternal rest Monday morning, April 20, 2009. Born in Durham, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Burns Thomas and Martha Katherine Breedlove Thomas. . Virginia was a graduate of Oak Grove High School. She was a retired employee of the West Durham, Lumber Company, having worked there for over 25 years in the bookkeeping department. She loved working with her hands as she created quilts, afghans, crafts and sewing. In 1997, Virginia made a quilt that placed 1st at the N.C. State Fair. She loved cooking and working with flowers. She was a faithful member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church for many years. Virginia will be missed for sweet smile and genee spirit. Surviving are her daughter, Toni Fuller and husband, Rick of Durham; one son and two step-sons, Rusty Scarborough and wife, Jane of Durham, Doug Teasley and wife, Jaime of Creedmore and Randy Teasley and wife , Cecelia of Hillsborough; Five grandchildren, Kristia S. Murray, Christy Teasley, Joey Teasley, April Tilley and Amber Teasley and two great-grandchildren, Kayla Murray and Jodi Murray. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Durham Memorial Baptist Church. The Rev. Ed Denton, Rev. Dr. Gerald C. Goodwin and Rev. Ralph C.Teasley will preside. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home.
