Timothy Alan Warren

DURHAM – Timothy Alan Warren, age 63, was born on March 14, 1960, to the late John and Ethel Warren in Orlando, FL. He grew up in Campbellsville, KY and lived in Durham, NC for the past 38 years. On April 12, 2023, he heard the words spoken by his Lord and Savior, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant.”

Tim or Timmy as he is lovingly called by close friends and family served four years in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. Since living in North Carolina, he worked in the communications industry as a technical engineer and was respected by customers and co-workers alike. He was a member of The Summit Church and served in the prison ministry for ten years. Using his spiritual gifts, Tim walked along side these men to show them a different way of life.

He was an avid boater and water skier and enjoyed teaching others to ski and tube. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren, Blake and Mila, who affectionately referred to him as “Buggs.”

Tim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jamie Warren; his daughter, Kara Roberts; his son-in-law, Nicholas Roberts; his grandchildren, Blake and Mila Roberts; his brother, Greg Warren (Sandra); his sisters, Roxie Pottinger (Trip), Bonnie Polin (Robbie) and Lou Ann Waldrop, her aunt, Carolyn Arnzen (Tim) and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ethel Warren, and his sister, Mary Gray.

A visitation will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Summit Church-Brier Creek Campus. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m. at The Summit Church-Brier Creek Campus. A reception will follow from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at The Summit Church-Brier Creek Campus, 2415 Presidential Drive, Durham, NC 27703.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prison Ministry at The Summit Church by putting “Tim Warren memorial” in the memo line of a check made out to The Summit Church and mailing it to 2335 Presidential Dr. Durham, NC 27703.
