Thomas Allen Foster

Tom Foster of Fearrington Village was born ineedford, VA. Parents: Susie and Francis Foster who are deceased. He was predeceased by brothers "Billy" and Richard. There is also a sister, Sandra Stephens of VA. In 1959 he married Nancy Rising and they had a family of three: Eric and wife, Jackie of Saranac Lake, NY; Lee Anne Lloyd of Sanford, NC; and, Ken and wife Jen of Nazareth, PA. There are six grandchildren ages 26-5. He dearly loved his entire family and was so proud of each individual's road through life. Tom went directly from high school to serve 20 years in the US Navy 10 as an enlisted sailor and 10 as an officer. During this time, he earned his B.S. at NC State in Nuclear Engineering and received neerous academic awards. Later, while on full time duty in the Navy, he received his Master's degree in Finance at Pace Uneersity. The next 20 years were spent in Endicott, NY working as Controller for Amphenol Corp. Oneetirement from the business world he and Nancy moved to Fearrington Village and began a "bucket list" of travels aneexperiences that were the source of many, many happy memories. He also followed his passions for political affairs, environmental issues and his beloved Wolfpack basketball, as well as serving as President of the Weatherfield Board for two years. "Celebration of His Life" will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at The Gathering Place, Fearrington Village, Pittsboro.
