DURHAM-Theresa Rasfeld Wiethe, 86, died peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 16th at Brookdale Senior Living Center. She was born in the St. Bernard part of Cincinnati, Ohio on May 14th 1932, the daughter of William H. and Rose Karle Rasfeld. Theresa graduated from Our Lady of the Angels High School in St. Bernard, then got a teaching degree in Cincinnati. She moved to Durham in 1955, taught at Immaculata School for 2 years and then worked at Duke Uneersity for almost 40 years, retiring as the administrative coordinator of the Medical Library. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, the Durham PEO chapter, the Duke Learning ineetirement program, and 50 plus. Terry loved to read, travel, work at the Duke Children???s Classic, and attend Duke basketball and Durham Bulls games. Theresa is survived by sons, Louis H. Wiethe, III and Robert W. Wiethe (Mary Jane); brother, Joe Rasfeld; sister, Vera Tucker; and a large extended family, all of whom she loved greatly. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 11:00 AM Tuesday, Oct 23rd from Immaculate Conception Church. Friends may visit 5-7 PM Monday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer???s Foundation, Immaculate Conception Church, or Avila Retreat Center, where she voluneered often.
