Suzanne Sweeney Valliere

Suzanne Sweeney Valliere, age 65, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, neember 7, 2105 at her Durham home. She was born in Biddeford, Maine to Irene V. Cyr Sweeney and the late John E. Sweeney. Suzanne graduated from St. Louis High School in Biddeford, Maine. While her daughters were young, she worked as an Avoneepresentative and held toy parties in order to stay home with her children. Later she worked in the business offices of several doctors, as well as in the business offices of St. Mary Academy and St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover, NH, and at the Uneersity of N.H. in Durham, NH. She moved to North Carolina to be near her granddaughter, with whom she shares a birthday. In NC, Suzanne worked in the office of Holy Infant Parish. She was an avid reader aneenjoyed working at church functions. In addition to her mother, Suzanne is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 46 years, Richard E. Valliere of Durham, NC; her daughters, Joy M. Whitfield, also of Durham; Melissa J. Valliere-Taylor and husband, Rex, of Chesapeake, VA; granddaughter, Aurora Whitfield of Durham; and sister, Priscilla J. Davis-McIlwain of Atlanta, GA. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 10:00 a.m. Friday, neember 13, 2105 from Holy Infant Catholic Church with Father Robert Rutledge, OSFS, presiding. Friends may visit one hour prior to the mass in the church from 9:00-10:00 a.m. A reception in the fellowship hall will be held immediately after the mass. Burial is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, neember 14, 2015 at St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery in northern Durham.
