Stephen Walker Harris

A kind and gentle soul, Stephen Walker Harris, peacefully died January 31 with his family around. At the ripe age of 82, Steve, Peve, Stevie Wonder, Maytag navigated many health issues with his head held high and left a trail of witty one-liners for whomever was around. He will be missed by his wife of 60 years, 4 children and their spouses, 10 grandchildren, his brother, Miss Muttlee and many, many dear friends and hunting buddies. A man of few words, who had a far reaching impact on many people and organizations. He was a true Tar Heel who loved to see DOOK lose and a CPA doing “hard math” to the end. He loved his family and friends, his dog and everyone gathered at the Sugar Shack for Bogue Sound sunsets.

As Peve said, “It’s been a great ride!”
