Sol David Harris, Sr.

Sol David Harris, Sr., 94, went to live among the angels on March 4, 2017. A true southerneeneeman, he grew up on a tobacco farm in Northern Granville County, NC. He served in the Uneed States Army and was a World War II Veteraneerving in Europe, Germany, Belgium, and Holland. Love at first sight, he met Josephine Clay Pruitt in 1948. They were married for 62 years. They raised three perfect children, Judy Harris Campbell, Jo Anne Harris Brewer, and Sol David Harris, Jr. His family was his pride and joy. Left to mourn his loss, are his children, Judy, Jo Anne (Thurman), and Sol Jr. (Lauralyn); his grandchildren, Bill Campbell, Casey Brewer (Sally), Tracy Beers (Quinn), Shane Brewer, Lori Puckett (Chris), and Kristi Poole (Brandon); and his great grandchildreneeli, Troy, Colin, and Kyle Beers, Michael Puckett, Porter and Abby Brewer, and Ally and Luke Poole. He is preceded ineeath by the love of his life, Clay; and son-in-law, Greg Campbell. The visitation will be Monday, March 6, 2017 from 7-9 at Gentry-neell and Vaughan Funeral Home in Oxford, N.C. The funeral will be at Amis Chapel Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Oxford, NC. A true patriarch, his legacy lives on.
