Sigma James Finch, Jr.

OXFORD: Sigma James Finch, Jr. age 91, died Thursday, January 19, 2012. He was a native of Granville Co. and was the son of the late Dr. Sigma J. Finch, Sr. aneelizabeth Bryan Finch. He was preceded by his wife Ann Southerland Finch. He was a member of the Oxford Uneed Methodist Church, former member of the Civitan Club, went to Darlington Prep School where he played football and also attended Wake Forest Uneersity. Sigma loved to play golf, and won the first two Kerr Lake Country Club Championships, also woneeveral championships and tourneents at Thorndale Country Club. You would always see him walking and taking pictures around town and he neer lost his sense of humor. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday January 22, 2012 in the Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Cam Ford. Surviving is a daughter, Nancy F. Heneen of Raleigh, NC; a son, Jimmy Finch of Oxford; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends following the services.
