Shirley Anne Dunlow

(Oxford) – Shirley Anne Dunlow, age 81, died at home on February 3, 2022. She was born in Chuckatuck, Virginia on June 28, 1940, to the late Roy Lee Denson Sr. and Dorothy Galtress Denson.

Shirley graduated from Chuckatuck High School, and then spent many years working in the medical field in patient billing. Shirley married Miles McKinley Dunlow, and they spent many happy years together. Shirley was a loving and supportive mother, as well strong-willed woman. Shirley loved everyone she met, was very morally grounded, and touched many lives over the years. Shirley was also known for her infectious laugh, and amazing sense of humor.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Thomas Ashton Presson Jr. (Gail) of Suffolk, Virginia, and Jeffrey Alan Presson (Nancy) of Sutherland, Virgina; her daughter Dorothy Presson Foushee, of Oxford, North Carolina; her brother Roy Lee Denson Jr. of Oregon. Shirley is also survived by seven beloved grandchildren and three adored great-grandchildren.  

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Miles McKinley Dunlow, her first spouse, Thomas Ashton Presson, Sr., and her daughter, Kim Presson Peace.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Corinth Baptist Church at 9:00am on February 7, 2022. A funeral service will immediately follow at 10:00am. Burial will be held privately at Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
