Sarah Claire Fisher

Sarah Claire Fisher, 11, passed away on Thursday July 11, 2024. She died suddenly after dealing with an unknown illness for the last several months. Sarah was born in Raleigh to Jonathan and Laura Fisher on September 23, 2012. She recently completed 5th grade at Holly Springs Elementary School where she loved being with her friends, teachers, administrators and particularly math class. Sarah loved anything having to do with Harry Potter. She and her sister choreographed many dance routines and plays to entertain the family. She liked listening to music and Taylor Swift was her go to playlist recently. Most of all, Sarah was kind and caring to everyone she met.

Sarah is survived by her parents Jonathan and Laura Fisher of Holly Springs; sister Ella Fisher of the home; grandparents Jim and Becky Crawford of Durham, Pam Barth of Raleigh, and Greg Fisher and his wife Cyndie Smith of Durham; aunts Rebecca Crawford and husband Lee Stoner of Hillsborough, Rachel Joyner and husband Tyler of Raleigh, Danielle Jones and wife Pippa Hall of Manchester, UK and Amanda Cotton and husband Heath of Durham; and so many more loving family members and friends. Sarah is predeceased by her brother Cameron. 

The family would like to express special appreciation to the devoted medical staff with UNC Children’s Hospital. Their care and love for Sarah will live forever in our hearts. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Green UMC, 3005 Pleasant Green Rd., Durham, NC 27705. Please include "Sarah Fisher Fund" on the memo line of your check. The donations will be used to support the After School and Summer Camp programs at Pleasant Green that Sarah loved to help with. 

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Friday July 19, 2024 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St., Durham. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Pleasant Green United Methodist Church, 3005 Pleasant Green Rd., Durham. The Rev. Laura Thompson will officiate.
