Samuel Watkins Hunt

Samuel” Bo” W. Hunt of Granville County passed away on February 4, 2021 at the age of 91. He is the son of the late Mrs. Mary Jeanette Elam Hunt and Charles Bryant Hunt, Sr. and the husband of the late Dorothy Lois Hunt.
He was a retired local tobacco farmer, a vendor with Buckhorn Flea Market and Oxford Farmers Market.
At a younger age, Bo worked for Wise Potato Chip Company and Burlington Industries. He loved his old Ford pickup, eating ice cream, country music and always had a story to tell.
Surviving family are his daughters, Audrey Brogden of Graham, NC and Barbara Blalock of Jamestown, NC; his son, Nathan Hunt (Nancy) of Westville, Indiana; and his half-brother, Timothy Hunt of Raleigh, N.C., 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bo was preceded in death by his sisters, Janie Dickerson and India Milton; his brother, Charles Bryant Hunt, Jr. and half-brother, Charlie B. Hunt.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home, 503 College St., Oxford.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Glenn Stallsmith officiating. Family and friends may prefer to view the recorded service remotely. Please click here to view the recorded service.
