Samuel Howard Casey

Samuel Howard Casey, Sam, 95, of Chapel Hill, NC died December 22, 2012 at Hillcrest Center in Durham, NC. He was born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, July 12, 1917. He was the son of Edna Hestwood Casey and Howard Zadok Casey. Sam attended Milliken College ineecatur, Illinois, the Uneersity of Illinois, and the Advanced Maneement School at Harvard Uneersity. After a lengthy career in the oil business, he retired as President and CEO of Commonwealth Oil and Refinery ineew York and Puerto Rico. In the 1980's, with his wife Lene, he started a new career ineeal estate and development in Hiltoneead Island, SC and Ashe County, NC. Sam is survived by his wife Lene Alston Casey; four daughters, Sue Olsen, Linda Waddell, Ann Durkin, and Jo Hill; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded ineeath by his first wife, Imogene McCraw Casey; his brother John H. Casey; and his granddaughter, Samantha Schrank. A memorial service will be held at St. Albaneepiscopal Church in Littleton, NC on January 12, 2013 at 11 AM. The family suggests donations be made to St. Albaneepiscopal Church, P.O.
