Sallie Blalock Roller

Mrs. Sallie Blalock Roller, of Oxford, NC, passed away on May 12, 2019, at the age of 92. Sallie was a lifelong resident of Granville County, most recently residing at the Whitmore Retirement Center.?? However, she enjoyed most of her life ineeloved home on Broad Street. Sallie was born on March 24, 1927, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jean and Mabel Blalock and was the oldest of four children. She met her love, William Mitchell ???Bill??? Roller, at a USO dance and married in 1948. They welcomed their only child, Jean, in 1950. Sallie was a familiar face in Oxford for many years, working at the counter of Williams Drug Store.?? Sallie enjoyed gardening and tending to flowers, as well as reading magazines and cookbooks. She had a keen interest ineer family history aneenjoyed collecting heirlooms and antiques. Sallie is preceded ineeath by her husband, Bill; her daughter, Jean Roller Slaughter and both of her brothers, Ralph Blalock and Howard Blalock. Surviving is her sister, Elizabeth Blalock Lane, of Oxford; her granddaughter, Lori Slaughter Nichols (Chris) of Matthews, NC; her grandson, Todd Slaughter of Oxford, NC and several loving nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on May 15, 2019 at 11:00 am, officiated by Reverend Keith Williams.
