Ruth Wheeler Hicks, 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Ruth, daughter of Ralph Elbert Wheeler (dec.) and Clair Mary Wheeler (dec). began her life in Lynedoch, Ontario, Canada before making her home with her predecease husband, Clinton P Hicks, in Stovall, NC.

Ruth is survived by her children, Constance Tonu (Richard), James “Mickey” Hicks (dec. Rita), and Nancy Lindeman (William); 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at 3:00 pm from Stovall United Methodist Church with Rev. Johnny Yount officiating. Inurnment will immediately follow in the Stovall Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive guests for visitation in the Stovall Baptist Church Fellowship Hall following the urn burial.

The family requests that all attendees wear appropriate face coverings and adhere to the safe practice of social distancing.

The family would like to express special appreciation to the wonderful individuals who served as Ruth’s caregivers. Their tender touch gave so much support and comfort when it was needed most.
