Ruth Hoffman Shaffer

Ruth Hoffman Shaffer passed away peacefully on January 17, 2022. The daughter of Mr. Paul Norman Hoffman and Mrs. Marjorie Ellen Ledbetter Drake. She was educated at Concordia Lutheran High School ( Fort Wayne, IN ), Hanover College ( Hanover, IN ) and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

Ruth was a woman who gave all she had, and asked for nothing in return. Her chocolate chip cookies and lasagnas were legendary, and she tirelessly baked and delivered them as a token of her love. She was strong in her faith and the family is comforted by this. She was married to her husband Lee P. Shaffer, II for 63 years and is survived by her husband, their three sons Lee P Shaffer III, Dean F Shaffer, David S Shaffer, their daughter Marel S. Woody, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

A private graveside service and internment is planned.
