Rosemarie Josephine Foytlin

Rosemarie (Valenta) Foytlin, 99 years young, died at Duke Medical Center on September 28, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born July 31, 1922 in Endicott, NY to the late Bohumil and Febronia Valenta. Rosemarie was the first of thirteen children.

Rosemarie is survived by daughters Lynda Sheehan (Mike) and Marlene Kearney (Ed) and sons Daniel Foytlin (Teresa) and David Foytlin (Jennie). Rosemarie is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Tyler Davis (Nitzie), Jennifer Glickman (Jamie), Rodrick Foytlin, Erik Foytlin, and Kimberly Foytlin, and 2 great grandchildren, Athena and Athens Glickman. Rosemarie was also survived by her beloved cats, who were her faithful companions, Louie and Kimmie.

Rosemarie was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband of 60 years, Lewis F. Foytlin, brothers Arnold, Thomas, Theadore, and George Valenta, and sisters, Eleanor, Delores, and son-in-law Edwin G. Kearney.

Funeral Mass will be Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Holy Infant Catholic Church, Durham, NC with Fr. Robert Ruttledge officiating.
