Roger Monee Goodman

Roger Monee Goodman, age 63, resident of 1048 Pea Ridge Road, died Saturday at his home. A native of Pittsboro, he is the son of the Mary Alice Westmoreland Goodman and the late Russell Monee Goodman. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Mr. Goodman was an avid fan of auto racing, loved to hunt and fish aneenjoyed the outdoors. He was known as one of the best auto mechanics in the area. Mr. Goodman was employed for over thirty years with Yates Motor Company in Chapel Hill and later was employed with Braxton Tire Company until his retirement. Surviving are his mother, Mary Alice Westmorland Goodman of Pittsboro; long-time companion, Melba Goodman of Pittsboro; daughter, Betsy Lynn Goodman of Carrboro; son, James Roger Goodman of Pittsboro; and sister, Linda Sue Eubanks of Pittsboro. Mr. Goodman was predeceased by his sister, Jane Jordan and brother, Milton Goodman. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Griffin Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. The Rev. Bob Wachs will preside. The family will receive friends following the service. Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, C/O Pittsboro Relay For Life.
