Riley Wade Dehart

Riley Wade DeHart, Jr., age 82, died Saturday, February 28, 2015 at his home. Riley was born in Green Bay, Prince Edward County, Virginia to the late Riley W. DeHart, Sr. and Rosella Jones DeHart. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1949 where he served his country honorably for 22 years. Uponeetiring from the service he worked at Southerneell in Durham and later at IBM-RTP where he later retired again. Riley enjoyed spending time with his family and friends more than anything but also enjoyed traveling and fishing. He was a dedicated and loving, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed. Riley is survived by his two sons, Donald G. DeHart, Sr. of Raleigh, NC; and Darryl L. DeHart of Oxford, NC; six grandchildren, Branee Kaczmarek, Catherine Holleman, Daniel Holleman, Donald DeHart, Jr., Nicholas DeHart and Kelly DeHart; and nee great-grandchildren. He was preceded ineeath by his wife, Joyce DeHart and his son, Riley W. DeHart, III. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens with U.S. Navy Military Honors. Friends may visit Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service in Durham.
