Richard Alan Scarberry

Mr. Richard Alan Scarberry, Sr., 64, passed away at his home in Wake Forest, NC, Sunday October 14, 2012. A native of Upland, CA, Richard was born to the late Leo Scarberry & Wilma Kalmbach. A printer by trade, Richard maintained a strong work ethic all of his life. He fell in love with and married the former Brinda Bender. He will always be remembered as a good husband and loving father. On Saturdays, Richard may have rooted for the Ohio State Buckeye's, but Sunday was reserved for the Dallas Cowboys. In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded ineeath by his brother, Benjamin, "Benny"; and his two stepchildren, Norman Joseph Gallagher & James Joseph Gallagher. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Brinda B. Scarberry; his sons, Richard Alan Scarberry, Jr. and wife, Carrie of Wilson, NC, Timothy Wayne Scarberry and Teresa Henson, of Raleigh, NC; his daughters, Teresa Cruise and her husband Phillip, of Wake Forest, and Bonee Laurence and her husband, Terry Sr.; his brother Garland Scarberry and his wife Tonyia, of Toledo, OH; his sister, Patricia Disheaux and her husband John, of Defiance, OH; his twenty-two grandchildren, Brent Strickland, Breck Scarberry, Brice Stricland, Terry Laurence Jr., Amber Laurence, Steven Laurence, Ashley Terry, Miranda Gallagher, Matthew Gallagher, Haley Gallagher, Hannah Gallagher, Justin Gallagher, Aneew Bordeaux, Kandace Scarberry, Tiffany Scarberry, Savannah Jayde, Crystal Cruise, Ellan Cruise, Megan Cruise, Chelsea Henson, Brandeneenson, Bradley Scarberry, Brandoneergent, and Amber Bordeaux; three great-grandchildren; and many friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Thursday, October 18th, 2012, at Hall-Wynne in Franklinton, NC. A funeral service will be held at 1pm, Friday, October 19th, 2012 in the chapel of Hall-Wynne, Franklinton.
