DURHAM - Frank Zedick of Durham, NC, ended his earthly pilgrimage on April 3, 2016, at his home. ??Borneeptember 2, 1923 ineest Newton, PA, he was the son of John and Susan D. Zedick, both deceased. ??He was married to Mary Eva Pridgeneedick, his wife of 67 years. ??Frank and Mary were the parents of four children, Frank Roneedick (Gail) of Durham; Suzan Z. Pittard (Karl) of Weldon; Paula Z. Matthis (Steve) of Clinton; and Mary Frances Z. Fowler (Jerry) of Durham. ??Grandchildren are Major James Zeke Pittard, US Army, Ft Bragg, NC; Karl Ashley Pittard, Huntsville, AL; Allison Lache Filyaw, Florence, SC; Mary Katherine Strother, Rock Hill, SC; Marie Matthis Smith, Carol Stream, IL; Franklineeil Fowler, Atlanta, GA; and Christa Marie Fowler, Wilmington, NC. ??Great-grandchildren are Grace Pittard, Sarah Pittard, Benjamin Pittard, Briggs Filyaw, Charlotte Strother, and Abigail Smith. Frank received his elementary schooling ineest Newton, PA; attended Ben Franklin Junior High School, and New Castle Senior High School, New Castle, PA. ??Following high school, Frank served in the US Army Air Force during World War II for a period of three years. ??He received his BA degree from Furman Uneersity, Greenville, SC. ??He earned the Batchelor of Divinity, Master of ??Theology, and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC. As a pastor, Frank, while a student at Furman Uneersity, served Durbin Creek Baptist Church and Bethany Baptist Church, both of Fountain Inn, SC. ??Other churches he served were Middlesex Baptist Church, Middlesex, NC, Bailey Baptist Church, Bailey, NC, Selma Baptist Church, Selma, NC, First Baptist Church, Dillon, SC, and Grace Baptist Church, Durham, NC. ??Frank received the honor of being Pastor Emeritus of Grace Baptist Church. During his ministry, he served on the General Board of the South Carolina Baptist State Convention, Trustee of Anderson Uneersity, Anderson, SC, and the Homes for the Aged in South Carolina. After retirement, Frank and Mary added to their lifelong and varied mission experiences by serving in Rome, Italy, Budapest, Hungary, and under the joint sponsorship of the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Baptist Brotherhood of North Carolina. ??They served in Kiev and L'Viv, Ukraine as coordinators for the North Carolina State Mission Board-Ukraine Baptist Partnership. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Grey Stone Church. Burial will be held oneednesday at Riverview Memorial Park, Charleston, SC. Friends may visit from 1:00 ??? 2:00pm prior to the service in the church on Tuesday. The Zedick family is under the care of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
