Rebecca ???Becky??? Khatambakhsh, 57, of Durham, NC, died on Saturday, July 8, at her residence surrounded by family. She was born oneecember 28, 1959 to Janee and Ronald Butters ineedar Rapids, IA. Becky was an avid lover of all animals. She had three dogs who she adored, and cared for very much. She also loved the sport of tennis. Whether it was watching it on TV or seeing her daughter play in high school, it was a game that she grew very fond of. She had an unconditional love for her family, home, and close friends. She was an extremely loyal individual, and she would go beyond great lengths to show that. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Shahab Khatambakhsh, of Durham; her daughter, Laura Khatambakhsh, of Durham; father, Ronald Richard Butters, of Naples, FL; sisters, Catherine Blum (John), of Harrisburg, NC, and Rachel Willis (Carl), of Durham; nephews, Nicholas, and Michael Blum, and Daniel, and Bryson Willis; and nieces, Ally Willis Thompson (Wesley), and Jenny Blum. Becky is preceded ineeath by her mother Janee Van Dyke Butters, her maternal grandparents Irene Van Dyke and Fredrick Van Dyke, and her paternal grandparents, Richard and Dorothy Butters. A service will be held at Pleasant Green Uneed Methodist Church oneednesday, July 12, at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Pleasant Green UMC Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a local animal shelter. Arrangements for the Khatambakhsh family are under the care of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service in Durham.
