Rebecca Ann Harrell, age 90, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2021 at the Duke Hospice Hock Family Pavilion. She was a life-long resident of Durham, the daughter of the late C. Grady and Iver Williams Harrell. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Clyde Grady Harrell, Jr. and Earl Bishop Harrell, her sister-in-law Emily Sexton Harrell, and by her niece, Deborah Harrell Saville.
She is survived by her nephew, William Harmon Harrell of Durham, nephew-in-law Glenn Saville (wife Tracey) of Brookeville, Maryland, by two great nephews, Ryan Saville of Rockville, Maryland and Matthew Saville (wife Ping) of Seattle, Washington, and a great niece, Christina Saville of Brookeville, Maryland.
Becky, as she was known by her friends and family, retired from GTE after 34 years of service. She loved walking the sands of Holden Beach, raking leaves in the Fall, long talks with friends, holiday meals with family, classical music, and monthly communion with Trinity United Methodist Church. She was truly a loyal friend and absolutely devoted to her family.
A graveside service will be 2:00PM Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Maplewood Cemetery, Section 10. Rev. by Reverend Daniel Jackson, of Trinity UMC will officiate.
