Raleigh Newman Carson, age 88, formerly of Lynchburg, VA, departed this life on January 23, 2009 at UNC Hospital. He is survived by nieces Delores J. Ferguson of Pittsboro, NC, Fay Walden of Denver, CO, Saundra Goldsby of Gary IN, Mrs. Arliene Carson, Claudette, Wendy, and Ronald Carson of Bronx, NY; nephews David and Frank Young of Richmond, VA, Ollie Ferguson Wineeton of Amherst, VA, and a host of beloved relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held oneednesday, January 28, 2009 at 12:00 noon in Fort Hill Memorial Park, 5196 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg, VA.
