Phyllis Henthorne of Chapel Hill, NC died on September 8, 2021. Phyllis was born on August 2, 1937, in Arcadia, WI to the late, Peter J. and Marie (Fernholz) Weaver. Phyllis was also predeceased by her beloved grandson, Michael Patrick Henthorne, and brother, Allen Weaver. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Lyle (Duke), sons Michael and Alane Bartlett of New Richmond, WI; Patrick and wife Linda of Dublin, OH; and granddaughter Noelle Herrick of Denver, CO. Also surviving are her sisters, Mary Ann Knothe, Carol Herried, Kathryn Weaver-Karras and Jane Rendler and husband James; brother, David Weaver and wife Kelly; sisters-in-law, Patti Weaver, Carolyn Schoenfeld and husband Ray; Marilyn Moll and husband Russ; Linda Kinstler and husband Paul and Debra Henthorne; brothers-in-law, Donald Henthorne and wife Joyce, Wayne Henthorne and wife Carol, Richard Henthorne and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis and family moved several times, following job relocations for her husband, the last to Chapel Hill, NC where they happily retired. She was always ready and enthusiastic about new places, especially new friends. Her focus was settling and acclimating family to a new life followed by employment and/or continued education for herself. She was also active in neighborhood and community organizations. After moving to North Carolina, Phyllis enjoyed being the beneficiary of her husband’s business travels to other countries, touring and site seeing with special appreciation for the countryside’s and its people. Included in her interests were the performing arts, reading and playing bridge. Phyllis cherished friendships; loved and treasured her family most of all. She now leaves this world to happily join her grandson Michael Patrick, her “favorite guy in the whole world!” Phyllis’ life will be celebrated on September 27, 2021, at 2:00 PM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 943 Carmichael St, Chapel Hill, NC with a Mass of Christian Burial. In lieu of flowers, Phyllis requests family and friends consider gifts to a charity of one’s choice.
