Phyllis Allen Matlock

Phyllis Allen Matlock, 74, resident of 2515 Fairlawn Road, died Monday at her residence. Mrs. Matlock was a born in Durham and was the daughter of the late Jim Allen and Dorothy Newton Allen. Mrs. Matlock was retired from the National Center for Health Statistics, where she had been employed for 30 years. An avid book reader, she read between two and three books a day. Surviving is her husband of 49 years, Robert Glenn Matlock and her son, Bill Matlock of Los Angeles, CA. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Thursday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home. The family would like to express their appreciation to all who shared in the care of Mrs. Matlock during her illness.
