Peggy Perry Elliott, 86, of Oxford died Wednesday, November 8, 2017. She was born on May 9, 1931 in Durham, NC to the late Mr. Hammond Perry and Mrs. Mamie Perry. She was the widow of Joe E. Elliott. She had retired from Burlington Industries after more than 35 years of dedicated service before returning home as a fulltime homemaker. She had a great love for her family and friends. Admiring beautiful flowers brought Peggy great joy. Peggy is survived by her son, Tommy Baker (Mona) of Wilmington, NC; daughter-in-law, Pamela Baker of Monks Corner, SC; sisters, Dora Crabtree of Durham, Shirley Byrd (David) of Durham, Edith Daniel of Oxford, NC, Janet Stuart of Durham, NC, and Alma Earl Pope (Larry) of Bahama; brothers, Horace Perry of Durham, NC, Ralph Perry (Carol) of Durham, NC, Felton Perry (Brenda) of Durham, NC; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two step children, Karen Faye Murray of Henderson, NC, and Goldie Garrett (Julien) of Oxford, NC. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Edward Perry, Tom Perry, Willie Perry; sons, Raeford Baker, Randy Baker, and Little Joe Perry Elliott. Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to Hester Baptist Church, 6581 NC-96, Oxford, NC 27565. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:00 pm from the chapel at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Jeff Hensley will officiate. Burial will follow in Hester Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00 1:00 pm.
