Pedro V. Mendoza

DURHAM: Pedro V. Mendoza, 89, died at home Wednesday after a brief illness. A native of the Philippines, he and his wife, the late Florencia Mendoza, came to the U.S., in 1977 to be close to family. Mr. Mendoza had worked in sales with the Jai Alai Corp. He lived through the joys and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, valuing their education and celebrating their successes. Mr. Mendoza was a simple and genee man, always offering a kind word and generous gesture. He leaves his children, Victoria M. Louis Gadrinab, Martha M. the late Eric Bernardo and Chito C. Evelyneendoza, all of Durham; grandchildren, Louis Gadrinab, Jessica Michael Henry; Carlo aneerika Bernardo; and Aldrich, Trisha and Karizza Mendoza; great grandchildren, Josie and Colineenry; three sisters and one brother. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased in 2009 by his grandson, Jon Michael Bernardo. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 10:00 AM Monday from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Fr. Dan McLellan presiding. Interment following in Markham Memorial Gardens.
