Pauline May

Pauline Polly F. May, age 87, died Thursday, September 4th at her Durham home surrounded by her loving family. A Durham native, Polly was born to the late Excell and Gillie Anne Hopsoneerrell oneebruary 18, 1921. Polly was a proud graduate of Lowe's Grove High School and in 1942 she graduated from the Watts Hospital School of Nursing. She was a long-time member of Lowe's Grove Baptist Church. Polly is survived by her children: Debbie Catlett of Durham, NC; Nancy Lathan and husband, Joe, of Moravian Falls, NC; Bob May and Bill May, both of Durham; her sisters: LaNelle Inscoe of Durham; Wynona Anderson of Silver, NC; Clara Brands of Washington, D.C.; her brothers: Johneerrell and Wimpy Ferrell, both of Durham; and Buck Ferrell of Suffolk, VA; three grandchildren: Deirdre Catlett, Jordan May and Courtney May; three great grandchildren: Sydney, Braydan and Piper Guerrette. She was preceded ineeath by her husband of 50 years, W.C. "Bill" May; and her son-in-law, Tommy Catlett. Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 11 AM at Maplewood Cemetery, Section 6, with Rev. Forest M. Gale, Jr. presiding. Friends may visit Sunday, September 7, 2008 from 2 PM to 4 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home, 1113 W. Main St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lowe's Grove Baptist Church, 4430 S. Alston Ave., Durham, NC 27713.
