Pauline Champion Newell

Pauline Champion Newell, 87, of Oxford, NC and formerly of Durham, NC and Jacksonville, FL, died on Monday, April 17, 2017. She was a native of Granville County and the daughter of the late Sidney C. Champion, Sr. and Helen Cash Champion. Pauline was preceded in death by two brothers, Sidney C. Champion, Jr. and Burley Champion; and one sister, Erma Champion Reece. She is survived by six brothers, Howard, Donald, Clifton, Charles, Larry, and Stephen Champion; four sisters, Virginia Morton, Faye Jones, Linda Fox, and Betsy Lovings; and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members. A graveside service will be held at Grassy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Services will be conducted by Reverend Steven Brown. A private cremation ceremony was previously held. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to Enon Baptist Church or Grassy Creek Baptist Church.
