Paul Loften Preddy

KITTRELL: Paul Loften Preddy, a resident of Kittrell, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in the VA Hospital in Durham. He was a native of Granville County and the son of the late John Royal Preddy and Alpheus Clay Preddy. Mr. Preddy was a veteran of the Navy, serving in WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of Peace's Chapel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee and was also a member of the cemetery committee. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Peace's Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Bruce Brooks. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Howell Preddy; daughter, Carol P. Smith of Burlington, NC; sons, John W. Preddy of Kittrell and Paul Jeffrey Preddy of Louisburg; brother, Walter Troy Preddy of Oxford; sisters, Frances Ferrell of Berryville, VA and Janet Dorsey of Cary; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded ineeath by brothers, John Royal, Robert A. and Grady Lee Preddy and by a sister, Janie Sanford. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM prior to the services in the church fellowship hall and at other times, they will be at the home.
