Pamela Turner McCausland, age 79, died at the Jim and Betsy Bryan Hospice Home of UNC Health Care in Pittsboro, NC, on March 15, 2025. She was born on November 4, 1945, to the late James Earl Turner and Frances Perkins Turner.
Pam earned a degree in Education from Limestone College and dedicated her career to teaching elementary school in both Virginia and South Carolina, touching the lives of countless students and their families with her kindness and passion for learning.
Pam was deeply involved in and dedicated to her communities, always eager to contribute and support those around her. She was a proud member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Learning Trails reading program, and the Junior Women’s Club of South Carolina, to name just a few. She was honored to be part of the Beta Upsilon chapter of the Alpha Delta Kappa sorority, embracing its mission of service and sisterhood among teachers.
Pam is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Bob, and her loving children, John Matthew (Jack) McCausland, Mary Beth Segars, and LeighAnn McCausland Oliger. She also leaves behind her cherished sister, Sherry Webster, a brother, James Turner, and seven beloved grandchildren who brought her immense joy. Pam was preceded in death by her brother, John O. Turner.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held April 25th at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill at 10:30 am with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the UNC Hospice Fund.
