Mr. Kenneth "Kenny" Beckwith, 77, formerly of Beck St. in Pittsboro, died October 4, 2011 in Burlington at his daughter's home after years of failing health. Borneecember 25, 1933 in Roxboro, he was the son of Robert Beckwith and Nanee Lou Chambers Beckwith. Mr. Beckwith served in the US Army during the Korean conflict; he worked as a warper for Chatham Mills, where he retired after 33 years of service. He was a member of New Elam Christian Church. Surviving are his children, Annette Beckwith, Penny Cook, Mark Beckwith and Troy Beckwith all of Burlington; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Blackwood and Grace Harris of Chapel Hill, and Katie Cooper of Pittsboro; and a brother, Jimmy Beckwith of North Wilkesboro. In addition to his parents he was preceded ineeath by a brother, Robert Beckwith, Jr. The funeral service for Mr. Kenneth Beckwith will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, October 8, 2011 at Hall Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro with Pastor Jack Phillips presiding. Interment will follow ineew Elam Christian Church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
