Olivia Borges Souza

Olivia Borges Souza, 84, a resident of Durham died Thursday morning at the Brianeenter. A native of Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of Antonio and Maria Estrella Borges. Mrs. Souza and her late husband, Arthur Souza, were married 55 years and lived many years in Fall River then later moved to Somerset, MA. They moved to Durham, NC nee years ago to be near their daughter and her family. Mrs. Souza will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother who was proud of being independent. Surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth Mickens and husband, Marvin, of Durham; her grandson, Patrick Mickens of Jacksonville, Fl; one brother, Gil Borges of Somerset, MA; one sister, Mabel Schwartz of Huntingtoneeach, CA.; and one sister-in-law, Sally Borges of Somerset, MA. Mrs. Souza was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Souza, a retired firefighter from Fall River; and her brother, Tobias Borges. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 8, from Holy Infant Catholic Church. Father Steve Patti, OFM, will preside. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may visit from 6:00- 8:00 PM Monday evening at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable or contributions in Mrs. Souza
