Mr. Norman Claude High, age 79, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, died peacefully at his home on December 21, 2024, surrounded by his family. Norman was born September 8, 1945, in Durham, to the late Leo Claude High and Annie Mae Dodd. He graduated from Durham High School in 1964 and following graduation, served in the United States Army. He worked at North Carolina Mutual Drugs and later at Sears Automotive Center at Northgate Mall, where he retired.
Norman enjoyed all sports and played baseball in high school and later played and coached a work softball team. He was most known for his love for the Duke Blue Devils and the Durham Bulls.
He is survived by his wife, Hiam Kiblawi of Durham; sister, Diane Matthis of Stem, NC; daughter, Stacey Mangum (Jason) of Timberlake; sons, Ahmad Mansoor of Durham, and Noor Mansoor of Durham; grandchildren, Janeen Webb, Devin Miles (Jay), Christopher and Andrew Mangum; and many beloved cousins and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024, at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
