Norman Bailey Crumpler

Durham NC– Norman Crumpler, 87, died at Duke Hospital on August 13, 2024. He was born on October 17, 1936 to the late Maude and N.B. Crumpler.

Norman graduated high school and joined the Army. After the Army, he decided to go to barber school. He was a barber in Durham for several decades before retiring. 

He was a talented pianist since childhood. In his last years, he has enjoyed reading his daily Bible scriptures. 

Norman is survived by his wife Bess, daughter Cindy and husband Carl Harris, sister Betty Lou Marino, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Norman was preceded in death by his son, Tony Crumpler, sister Leatrice Pascall, and brothers Thurman, Herman, and Stamford.

The visitation will be held at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service Chapel on Tuesday Aug 20, 2024, at 10:00am with a service to follow at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Guess Road Baptist Church.
