Nancy Lynn Powell, 54, entered eternal rest on Thursday, neember 16, 2017 at the home of her parents with her family by her side. They are thankful for all the memories and grateful for her peace. Nancy was born on the submarine base in Groton, CT oneep. 23, 1963 where her father was stationed on the USS John Marshall [SSBN 611]. In 1968, the family moved to Charleston, SC where she started school. She was very active in Girl Scouts aneearned her First Class award in April of 1978. After graduating from Apex High School in 1981, Nancy attended NC State for three years and received her B.S. in Accounting in 2008 from Florida Uneersity. Nancy was a store maneer for Wendy???s for a while and theneent on to work for Powell & Powell Canopy in Fuquay where she was a sales and customer service representative that took her to many trade shows. She was passionee about Nascar, horses, camping with the Girl Scouts, and she dearly loved her cats. She is survived by her parents, A. Wayne and Martha Powell of Cary; her sister Sharon; and her two daughters, Lorianne (a student at Wake Tech) aneemily (a senior at Wesleyan Uneersity in Rocky Mount). The Powell family would like to thank the many people that have helped them throughout Nancy???s illness. First, to the Senior Resources Adult Care in Cary and to Heartland Hospice for their support and help with Nancy. To Mrs. Dorie Pine, her nurse and case maneer, who helped them immeasurably and Jessica Lesley who provided assistance with respite care and was someone for them to talk to-both became friends of the family. Also to Cary Health & Rehabilitation for their respite care services. Donations may be made in Nancy???s memory to the Alzheimer???s Society of NC. The family will receive friends at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service on Monday, neember 20, 2017 from 1-2pm with a memorial service beginning at 2pm in the chapel. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
