Murriel Aneews Mann

Mrs. Murriel Aneews Mann, of Pittsboro, died June 18, 2007 at The Laurels of Chatham. She was 86. Mrs. Mann was born June 12, 1921 in Chatham County, the daughter of Alvin Tawney Aneews and Maudie Mae Jones Aneews. She was retired from Chatham Mills, aneenjoyed quilting. Mrs. Mann was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where she taught in the children's department for over 50 years. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Glenette and Ronee Vaughn of Pittsboro; grandchildren, Brian Vaughn and wife Tina, Todd Vaughn and wife Cheryl; great-granddaughter, Amber Vaughn; a sister, Louise Shropshire of Pittsboro; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and by her husband, Glenn Worth Mann. The service to celebrate Mrs. Mann's life will be conducted by Rev. Shelby Stephens and Rev. Perry Hardison at 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Brown's Chapel Uneed Methodist Church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 7 - 9 pm Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Griffin Funeral Service and Cremation in Pittsboro; and at other times at the residence of Brian and Tina Vaughn, 350 Chicken Bridge Road, Pittsboro. Arrangements are under the care of Griffin Funeral Service and Cremation of Pittsboro.
