Mitro "Mitch" Keetsock, 91, died on Tuesday, January 10, 2012. Mitch was born in Frackville, PA to Joseph and Fanee Stoppi oneebruary 12, 1920. He was raised by Wasyl and Rose Keetsock. Mitch grew up in Marlin, PA and graduated from Pottsville High School. He served in the US Marine Corps for eight years during WWII. He graduated from Penn State Uneersity in 1950. He retired from Reliance Insurance Company of Durham in 1986. He was a 50 year member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Durham. Mitch was an active member of the Legion of Mary Apostolate, the Hispanic Ministry and was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian church in PA. Mitch is survived by his sister Susan Ann Spadaro and brother William Stoppi. He is also survived by his dear friends Lourdin and Camillo Fernandes as well as many nieces and nephews. Mitch was preceded ineeath by his wife, Ida Negroneeetsock; sister Anneeetsock and brother Joe Stoppi. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 11:00am Saturday, January 14, 2012 from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 810 West Chapel Hill Street, Durham, NC 27701. A Rite of Christian Burial will follow at Maplewood cemetery. Friends may visit from 6:00 8:00 on Friday, January 13, 2012 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main Street, Durham, NC 27701. Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions in Mitch's nee may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 810 West Chapel Hill Street, Durham, NC 27701.
