Mildred Elizabeth O'Neil Shaw, 85, passed away peacefully ineer home September 10, 2013. She was borneeptember 30, 1927 in Oswego, NY, daughter of the late John & Mildred Hayes O'Neil. Millie, as she was affectioneely called, met her husband, Frank, on a blind date set up by Frank's sister, Marjorie. Within four years they were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oswego, NY and spent the next year living in married student housing on the campus of Reneelaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Over the years, Millie and Frank made their home in Olean, NY, Corpus Christi, TX, Caracas, Venezuela, West Islip, NY and finally settling in Houston, TX for 34 years before moving to Pittsboro, NC a year ago. Millie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered. In addition to her parents, Millie is preceded ineeath by her sister, Sally O'Neil Sanford; her brother, John O'Neil; & her sister-in-law, Marjorie Shaw Guernsey. Millie is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Francis Frank J. Shaw III; son, Francis John Jack Shaw IV and his wife Cyndi Fagala Shaw of Meadows, TX; daughter, Deborah Shaw Heath and her husband Jon Alleneeath of Pittsboro, NC; beloved grandchildren, Rebekah Heath Tozer and her husband Jeff Tozer of Apex, NC, John Ryaneeath and his wife Meredith Breard Heath of Apex, NC, Aaron Michael Heath and Sandy Meyer Heath of Fullerton, CA, Bonee Heath Wei of Apex, NC, Chelsea Elizabeth Shaw neens of Dallas, TX, Connor Francis Shaw, Mariah Lyn Shaw, Kali Rianne Shaw, Taryn Rae Shaw; beloved great-grandchildren William Queeneethan Queen, River Heath, Asher Queen, Mackenee Tozer, Reed Heath, Ava Wei, Finley Heath, Macy Tozer, Knox Heath, and Maverick Heath; sister, Joanne O'Neil McMahon and her husband Ted McMahon of Oswego, NY; sister-in-law Patricia Shaw Harvey Cooney and her husband John Cooney of Port St. Lucie, FL; and brother-in-law James Edward Shaw and his wife Audrey of Moravia, NY. In addition, Millie is survived by several nieces & nephews. A Memorial service of Mass will be held 10 o'clock the morning of Monday, September 16, 2013 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill, NC. The family would like to thank the staff of UNC Hospice & Dr. Rayomand Bengaili of Doctors Making Housecalls, for their kineess & care.
