Durham, NC - Louise F. Howe, age 91, died Thursday, October 27th, in Montclair, VA, surrounded by her family.?? She was a longtime resident of Durham, NC. Mrs. Howe was born on July 23, 1925 in Bluefield, WV and was raised in Atlantic City, NJ.?? During WWII she was employed by the Glen L. Martin Company, Essex, MD.?? She was also active in the USO. In Durham, Mrs. Howe was the longtime owner of The Tack Shack store and horse stables, located near Catsburg Store in Durham.?? She later was employed for several years at Measurement Inc. before retiring ineer early eighties.?? Since 2012, Mrs. Howe has resided with her son in Montclair, VA. Mrs. Howe is survived by two children, Sarah Howe Brenee of Holly Springs, NC, and David G. Howe of Montclair, VA; two grandchildren, Harrison Brenee of Charlottesville, VA and Meriwether Brenee of Holly Springs, NC; her brother, Orrin F. Frye of Durham, NC; her beloved dog ???Tweedy??? and cat ???Claude. Mrs. Howe was preceded ineeath by her husband, George S. Howe. A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, neember 1st at Hall-Wynne funeral home, Durham, NC.?? A memorial service will be held oneednesday, neember 2nd at 2 pm in the Hall-Wynne Funeral Chapel, officiating will be Pastor Dave Lanuti of Hope Community Church.?? Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday evening, from 6:00 ??? 8:00 pm at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 W. Main Street, Durham. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Protection Society of Durham, 2117 East Club Blvd., Durham, NC.
