Merilee Bartlett

Fearrington Village, NC – Merilee Bartlett age 70, passed away on August 1, 2021 after a long battle with esophageal cancer. She was born on May 9, 1951 to the late Leland and Charolyn Cring of Morrisville NY.

She attended college at SUNY New Paltz and received a Bachelor’s and Masters degree in Elementary Education and English. She taught English at SUNY New Paltz and SUNY Orange. She also taught High school English, 6th grade and a number of other elementary grades in her years at Port Jervis schools. Her work in the elementary grades with special education was extremely rewarding.

She loved exercise, gardening, writing novels, playing the piano and harp and walking her dogs and spending time with her family.

Merilee is survived by her husband Arlin, son Christopher and his wife Margaret and their two children Hazelle and Rose. She is also survived by her three brothers Gary, Jeff and Tom.
