Mattie Abernethy West

Mattie Abernethy West, 81, of 3423 Randolph Road passed away Sunday. She was married to the late Matthew West, who died on April 2, 2001. The daughter of the late James Everette and Mattie Broadwell Abernethy, she was born on neember 21, 1923 in Durham. Mattie graduated from Durham High School in 1941 and shortly after graduation was employed at Duke Chapel for student chaplains.
